There is something painfully missing in pedagogy-and that’s pedagogy itself. No one teaches you about teaching itself. Or just how potent it can be as a learning tool.
Believe it or not, there is often a particularly right away or a wrong way to structure an argument. And a particularly well-defined way to counter-argument and even to anticipate them.
Often, in the exam, even while knowing a lot about a topic, the best points and examples may not come to mind when you need them. Only later when the exam is over do you realize that you could have used that point or you forgot to write that example etc.
It goes without saying that CURRENT AFFFAIRS are hyper-important for the UPSC exam. But it is not always obvious what exactly is meant by ‘Current Affairs’. Almost everything which is happening or has happened in the recent past, and managed to appear in the media somewhere, qualifies as a current affair.
In this article I suggest that there is a way to cut through all the madness and chaos and to prepare Current Affairs optimally for the UPSC exam.
